Events Description
The two Toronto-based Kurdish artist guests, Kazim Boran, Saz (Baglama) and Hezil, vocals, will join Dilan Ensemble, directed by the Kurdish kamānche player, composer and singer Shahriyar Jamshidi, to resonate songs from various parts of Kurdistan in their trio concert at the Canadian Music Centre. With the power of improvisation rooted in Kurdish traditions, they can cross the boundaries of musical genres and create a spontaneous musical momentum that penetrates from the soul of the musicians to the heart and soul of the listeners.
If you are enthusiastic about listening to the pure tastes of diverse musical ethnicities from West Asia, especially Greater Kurdistan, rather than the mainstream musical themes, melodies and languages of Persian and Turkish, this unique Kurdish Kamanche-Baglama and vocal trio is for you! You can immerse yourself in the beauty of Kurdish traditional music and leave the melodies and rhythms to transport you to the mesmerizing feeling of being in the mountains of Kurdistan, which are covered with Oaks and Turpentine trees.
