Events Description
In 2007, producer Sharon Browne initiated an innovative project by filming the inaugural Celtic Thunder show at the Helix in Dublin, Ireland. The concept aimed to bring together talented men from Ireland and Scotland, aged 21 to 42, to celebrate their shared Celtic heritage through a performance that blended traditional tunes, international hits, and original compositions.
The current Celtic Thunder lineup, featuring Damian McGinty, Emmet Cahill, Neil Byrne, and Ronan Scolard, showcases formidable talents in solo and ensemble performances, supported by the dynamic Celtic Thunder Band. Their live shows, known for dramatic lighting effects, intricate choreography, and a stage reminiscent of ancient Celtic pathways, embody the essence of Irish music and culture.
Since 2008, Celtic Thunder has released 17 shows on CD and DVD, completed 15 coast-to-coast tours in the U.S. and Canada, four tours in Australia, and hosted five Caribbean cruises. Their impact is reflected in BILLBOARD recognitions and impressive online presence with over 300 million views on their YouTube channel, “Thunder Tube,” and a million followers on their Facebook page.
