Events Description
Presented by: City of Toronto, Humber Polytechnic, Faculty of Media, Creative Arts, and Design
Join Anuja Varghese, 2023 Governor General’s Literary Award winner, for a discussion of Chrysalis: Stories, her debut collection exploring themes of transformation, belonging, and the intersections of queerness, family, and community. These genre-blending stories follow women of colour on surreal journeys of self-discovery, examining race, power, and sexuality in a blur of the real and unreal.
By the Lake Book Club hosts six Tuesday-night events from February to December, featuring Canadian authors. Each in-person event includes readings, discussions, Q&A, book signings, and ASL interpretation. Virtual events are subtitled live and provide online viewing and audio.
