Toronto
Events Description
Inspired by the vibrant cafés and dance halls of 1930s Paris, Club Django Toronto brings to life the infectious swing, melodic elegance, and fiery virtuosity of the legendary Quintette du Hot Club de France, made famous by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Their sound blends driving rhythm guitars, lyrical violin, expressive accordion, and dynamic soloing into an unmistakable style that is both timeless and exhilarating.
This Jazz Friday promises an intimate and lively evening of classic swing standards and Django Reinhardt compositions such as Minor Swing, Nuages, Daphne, and Douce Ambiance, performed with spirit, authenticity, and joy. Whether you are a longtime jazz lover or discovering gypsy swing for the first time, this is a rare opportunity to experience one of Toronto’s most respected jazz ensembles in a close, atmospheric setting.
