Events Description
“Her voice is the voice of a generation of women who don’t need apologies and know their value.” — Voxwave Magazine
Juno nominated vocalist and songwriter Denielle Bassels is a singular presence on the Canadian music scene, drawing from jazz, folk, blues and swing to create a sound entirely her own. Born in Toronto and forged on international stages, she first found her jazz wings singing in underground clubs across Europe before returning home to captivate audiences with her bold storytelling and genre bending performances.
Her music moves effortlessly between intimate confession and theatrical swing, earning national radio play and appearances at major festivals. Critics have praised her “uniquely powerful voice” and performances that deliver “solid heart punches” — Tinnitist. Fresh from a three month immersion in Paris studying the French influence on vocal jazz, Bassels returns with new stories, fresh inspiration and the unmistakable spark that makes every performance an event.
