A Symphony of Majesty: Beethoven’s Ninth
Ludwig van Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, often hailed as his crowning achievement, is a monumental masterpiece that has stood the test of time. Composed during his later years, this symphony is a profound embodiment of human spirit, unity, and triumph. The groundbreaking inclusion of a full choir in the final movement sets it apart, creating an overwhelming crescendo of sound that culminates in the resounding “Ode to Joy.” This powerful melody celebrates the universal bond of humanity and is a testament to Beethoven’s ability to communicate the deepest emotions through music. Under the expert guidance of our maestro, Mandle Cheung, and with the harmonious voices of a full choir, this concert promises to be an experience of a lifetime.
Mandle Philharmonic is the initiative of Mandle Cheung, a tech entrepreneur who took up the baton at the age of 70. The self-taught conductor, leading an orchestra of world-class musicians, has created an upstart ensemble that forges a new space in orchestral music, through which he can express his lifelong passion for music.
