Join Mike Janzen, George Koller and Davide Direnzo for the world premiere performance of Mike’s latest record, Songs from the Canyon. This innovative concert will take place at one of Toronto’s newest music halls and feature pulsating cinematic soundscapes, soaring strings, and soulful gospel vocals. This sonically diverse album will be performed chronologically without breaks and make good use of the incredible immersive sound experience of TD Music Hall.
An artist with diverse talents, Mike Janzen’s jazz releases with his trio have been hailed as “distinctive and sublime” (Jazz Times), while his “intricate, imaginative orchestrations” (Winnipeg Free Press) in his Reimagining Broadway orchestral show have delighted audiences across Canada. Janzen’s exploration of sacred themes are seen both in his double album The Psalms Project Vol. I, II (2021) as well as in his album Nudging Forever that earned him a JUNO nomination for Jazz Album of the Year (2017).
