Events Description
This docu-concert explores the prodigious contributions made by Monk, Parker, and Gillespie in the creation of a new style of jazz beyond the popular swing music style.
Monk | Parker | Gillespie – The Origins of Bebop, pays tribute to three of the greatest jazz musicians of our time, Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, and Dizzy Gillespie.
Compositions and improvisations characterized by fast tempos, rapid chord changes, dissonances, angular melodic twists, and complexed syncopations were all common threads when listening to the music of these three jazz titans.
Immerse yourself in this iconic sound with Michael Shand as Monk, Marcus Ali as Parker, and Alexis Baro as Dizzy. Prepare to be mesmerized.
