Events Description
The Peruvian Film Festival (PFF) returns for its second edition from July 27 to August 2, 2026, showcasing an exceptional lineup of 24 films at Toronto’s Carlton Cinema. Celebrating the richness, diversity, and creative energy of Peruvian cinema, this year’s program features acclaimed contemporary works, emerging voices, and celebrated classics from Peru.
The 2026 selection highlights daring storytelling and cinematic innovation across a variety of documentaries, narrative features, and special presentations. Notable titles include Mistura, the visually striking third feature from renowned director Ricardo de Montreuil; Runa Simi, Augusto Zegarra’s award-winning documentary on language preservation and cultural identity; and Vino la Noche, Paolo Tizón’s acclaimed exploration of memory and belonging.
“PFF was created to support Peruvian filmmakers who continue to tell their stories despite significant economic and structural challenges,” said Jose Ridoutt, Founder of the Peruvian Film Festival. “This year’s program reflects the diverse voices, perspectives, and artistic approaches shaping contemporary Peruvian cinema. These stories deserve greater visibility and recognition on the international stage.”
