Events Description
Join JUNO Award winner and Mayan‑Zapotec singer‑songwriter Quique Escamilla as he reemerges with a compelling and powerful new single, “No Kings Around,” set to release on April 15th, after a self-imposed U.S. tour cancellation. “I made the difficult decision to cancel my U.S. tour in January 2026 and indefinitely in response to a heated political climate and the inhumane targeting of Latin Americans and U.S. citizens at the hands of ICE,” notes Quique.
His new chant-like and anthemic call to freedom confronts the U.S. administration’s tyrannic ways at home—toward millions of Latinos and its own citizens—while it attacks nations abroad, from Palestine to Iran, Cuba to Venezuela, and threatens the rest of the world. Quique’s message is urgent, defiant, and deeply human: a call for the resistance that pulses through every people.
Join Quique on May 23rd at TD Music Hall to celebrate with his Toronto family and friends for the launch of his new music performed live for the first time.
“No Kings Around” drops on all music platforms on April 15th.
