The Hertz is an independent band formed in Hong Kong in 2018, blending funk, rock, and alternative sounds with Cantonese lyrics that reflect the voices of today’s Hong Kong youth. The band has performed for thousands of audiences at major local and international festivals, including Clockenflap Hong Kong 2023, TONE Music Festival (2022 & 2023), S2O Water Splashing Music Festival (Hong Kong), BreakOut West (Canada), LUCFest (Taiwan), Jade Music Festival (Vancouver), Freespace Jazz Fest 2025, and Taiwan Music Festival 2025.
In 2024, The Hertz completed their first Asia tour across Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Hong Kong, followed by a Taiwan city tour (Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung). They released their debut EP THE HERTZ, followed by their first full-length album PRESENT in 2023. In 2025, the band released their second EP ngo5 and launched a new touring cycle. The release also earned industry recognition, ranking No.5 on the Ultimate Song Chart Top 10 and winning the Bronze Award for Best Group at the 2025 Ultimate Song Chart Awards, presented by Commercial Radio Hong Kong—one of Hong Kong’s most recognized music awards platforms. The band currently reaches 47.5K monthly listeners on Spotify.
