Events Description
The Water speaks. Let love pull you under.
THE TWO DEATHS OF OPHELIA conjures a sonic portrait of Ophelia, reimagining the Shakespearian character while exploring the themes of love, desire, madness, and death. At once sensuous and unsettled, the rushing current of the sound-world mimics the unpredictable flow of water — pulling and pushing the listener as tones and gestures metamorphose.
Join The Happenstancers as they continue to push classical music into new and powerfully expressive places, and find out why they’ve been hailed as “the future of chamber music” (WholeNote Magazine).
THE TWO DEATHS OF OPHELIA will feature world premieres of new works for by Luis Ramirez and Ryan Chase, alongside music by Linda Catlin Smith, Ann Southam, Claude Vivier, Oliver Knussen, Thomas Adès, and more.
