Events Description
Join author Erum Shazia Hasan for a discussion of We Meant Well, her powerful debut exploring the complexities of charity, power, and privilege. Through Maya, an aid worker caught in a crisis in Likanni, the novel delves into questions of who deserves help, who holds the power to give it, and the moral contradictions inherent in global aid. Don’t miss this conversation about the tangled realities of doing good.
By the Lake Book Club offers six Tuesday-night events, between February and December featuring leading Canadian authors in conversation with Humber Polytechnics alumni. Each in-person event includes a reading, discussion, audience Q&A, book-signing and American sign language interpretation.
