Zoe has the death business all figured out. She runs A Curated Exit, a funeral home where technology allows people to carefully curate the moment of their death. No messy endings. No unpleasant surprises. Your body just vanishes and leaves behind a perfect final memory.
Then Zoe’s own husband dies unexpectedly, and his body doesn’t disappear.
Now, in the first hours after Steve’s death, Zoe is left alone with a dead body, a technical support line that never answers, an AI assistant with questionable people skills, increasingly unusual body-disposal ideas, and intrusive memories of a dead husband who refuses to stay out of the conversation.
Blending irreverent humour with moments of intimacy and tenderness, A Curated Exit is a love story about learning to let go of perfect endings.
After performances at the Winnipeg and Edmonton Fringe Festivals, A Curated Exit comes home to Vancouver for four performances only.
