Events Description
Come celebrate Japanese Canadian art and culture with us on the BC Day long weekend! This year, there are more than 60 performances and presentations across multiple venues. Highlights include butoh dance from Kokoro Dance, Kintsugi—an interactive internment installation by Annie Sumi and Brian Kobayakawa, and a screening of local artist Cindy Mochizuki’s Between Pictures: The Lens of Tamio Wakayama. The program also features panels, walking tours, martial arts, taiko drumming, a sumo tournament, Japanese food and craft booths, children’s activities, and more.
