Boy & Bear is an Australian indie folk and alternative rock band formed in Sydney in 2009. The group blends rich vocal harmonies, layered guitars, and atmospheric production, drawing comparisons to Fleet Foxes and early Mumford & Sons.
Their debut album, Moonfire (2011), was both a critical and commercial success in Australia, earning multiple ARIA Awards. Subsequent releases, including Harlequin Dream (2013), showcased a shift toward a more polished, expansive indie-rock sound.
Fronted by Dave Hosking, Boy & Bear are known for introspective songwriting, dynamic live performances, and a sound that balances folk roots with modern alternative textures.
