Events Description
Curtains is a brassy, bright, musical comedy “whodunit”! On the opening night performance of a new musical, the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage and the entire cast & crew are suspects! Enter a local detective, who just happens to be a musical theatre fan! Curtains is packed with glorious tunes and a witty, charming script. The Broadway production garnered 8 nominations at the 2007 Tony Awards including Best Musical.
Curtains – Book, additional lyrics: Rupert Holmes. Music, additional lyrics: John Kander. Lyrics: Fred Ebb. Original book and concept: Peter Stone. Curtains will be performed at the intimate Jack and Darlene Poole Theatre located in the Arts Umbrella building on Granville Island (formerly the site of Emily Carr School of Art).
Curtains is APPLAUSE! Musicals Society’s 49th musical in concert. What’s a “musical in concert” you may ask… The entire score and libretto of the musical is performed with books in hand, stage lighting, and just enough staging to help tell the story.
