Events Description

Bringing a little magic and meaning to the beautiful seawall in Coal Harbour, Destination Downtown is a free, month-long family-friendly activation that will see lighting installations, musicians, and performers animate this spectacular walk from Canada Place to Cardero Park. Destination Downtown is not only about entertaining and creating a sense of wonder. It’s about having shared experiences, exploring the city’s history, and celebrating Vancouver’s iconic waterfront and downtown core.

Fan favourites from last year return, including Ferris wheel rides throughout December, dazzling performances from local entertainers, lit words throughout the city, and sparkling lights and animals that illuminate your path along the Coal Harbour seawall – plus so much more!

Larger lighting installations will be located at key points along the route with suspended lighting to find your way. Take in over 100+ lit trees along the Coal Harbour Seawall from Canada Place to Cardero Park.

Explore new lit words throughout downtown Vancouver neighbourhoods this winter! You’ll discover festive photo ops around every corner!

The Coal Harbour seawall between Canada Place and Cardero Park hosts 120+ twinkling tree lights, while Robson Square is home to the ice rink, and Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza hosts the Ferris Wheel.
