The Steveston Salmon Festival returns for its 79th anniversary on July 1, 2026!
Celebrate “Canada’s biggest little birthday party” in Steveston! This year’s festival is all about community. Visitors will be treated to a show-stopping parade, live music, family-friendly activities and much more.
Foodies will want to try the iconic Salmon Bake — a savory, barbecued salmon filet that has become a Steveston favorite — a bowl of tasty chow mein, or fluffy stacks of pancakes for early rising parade-goers.
One of the country’s largest and most cherished Canada Day events returns to historic Steveston Village for an all-day celebration. Kicking off with a Kids Bike Parade at 9:30am — followed by the highly anticipated Community Parade — highlights of the event include Sammy’s Fun Zone for young families, skateboarding demos and more at the Sports on Courts area, and live music across three stages.
This year’s headliner is the Canadian rock band Barney Bentall & The Legendary Hearts. Foodies will want to arrive early for hot pancakes, the annual Salmon Bake, Japanese-Canadian Chow Mein, and a lineup of food trucks.
This festival honours the local community spirit and storied fishing heritage through live entertainment, youth performances, and delicious food. Not to mention, it’s free for all to attend and celebrate!
