Events Description

Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival serves as the centerpiece for Taiwanese Heritage Month. Following a historic proclamation by the Government of British Columbia, every July is now officially recognized as a time to celebrate the profound contributions and vibrant history of the Taiwanese community within Canada’s multicultural mosaic.

2026 Highlights: Tradition Meets Modernity

This year’s programming is a masterclass in traditional Taiwanese performing arts. The festival will feature three iconic traditional troupes from Taichung, Taiwan, including:

– Shinyifang Taiwanese Opera Troupe

– Jin Yu Yuan Puppet Theatre

– Miao Hsuan Dance Group, featuring traditional folk performances, the “Twelve Grannies” and “Tiger God.”

Beyond the main stage, attendees can explore a diverse range of interactive zones and exhibitions, all offering free admission:

Taste of Taiwan: Authentic street food, snacks, and specialty souvenirs.

Cultural Workshops: “Cross-Cultural Story Lamp” making, interactive mural walls, and a creative kids’ zone.

Arts & Wellness: An Artist Alley, Taiwan Tourism Pavilion, free medical consultations, and a dedicated Taiwanese Cinema showcase.
