Takuya Nakamura brings his jazz, jungle, and electronic sound to Fortune Sound Club on September 5 for an early show. Originally from Tokyo, the New York-based trumpeter and DJ trained under legendary jazz theorist George Russell at the New England Conservatory before becoming a fixture in NYC’s jazz and jungle scene in the mid-90s. A member of cult acts like Jojo Mayer’s Nerve and CocoRosie, he’s also lent his sound to work with icons like Quincy Jones, David Byrne, and Arto Lindsay.
