Weave a simple yet beautiful wool bag in the Coast Salish style in this interactive workshop led by Indigenous Cultural Programmer Jordan Dawson from the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation). Learn about the history, traditional teachings, materials, and basic techniques in this family-friendly workshop. All materials will be supplied. No experience needed, ages 8 and up.
Wool weaving has deep cultural significance for Indigenous people in the Coast Salish territories. The intricate patterns and vibrant colours found in Coast Salish weavings tell stories of tradition, identity, and community.
