Events Description
A promenade performance in and around the monastic Ruins at the Trappist Monastery Provincial Heritage Park.
“The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.”
Shakespeare’s great comedy of exile and disguise, where desire blooms in the Forest of Arden. Lovers chase each other through the trees, carving their names into bark, inventing new selves, and discovering the transformative power of love. It is a world where conflict dissolves into reconciliation, and longing turns into joy.
The beautiful Trappist Monastery Park provides the perfect setting for the wild, restorative magic of the Forest of Arden, the heart of Shakespeare’s beloved pastoral comedy – which hasn’t been produced by SIR since 2004! Primed for a revival, join us and delight in such rich variety of characters: the brilliant Rosalind; the lovesick Orlando; the witty Touchstone; and the melancholic Jaques, who famously exclaims “All the world is a stage, and all the men and women merely players…”
