About Royal Winnipeg Rifles Museum & Archives

The Museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving and displaying of military artifacts, pictures, books, documents etc. of Western Canada’s oldest Infantry Regiment.

 

This is the official museum of The Royal Winnipeg Rifles Regiment and an accredited Canadian Armed Forces museum.

What to Do at Royal Winnipeg Rifles Museum & Archives?

Discover the story of Western Canada’s oldest infantry regiment. Follow a scavenger hunt for unique artefacts that shed a new perspective on history. Immerse yourself in an interactive experience that allows you to kit up as a solider through various eras. Handle actual historical weapons.

Please note that the Museum is age appropriate for visitors 12 years of age and older.

Self-guided tours. The Museum collection is designed so that you can walk through a chronological portrayal of the Regiment’s history at your own pace.

Guided tours. You can also take a guided tour. We’ll walk you through the Museum and the displays around the Minto Armouries, which is an incredibly interesting building itself. To help us prepare for the tour, contact us in advance to let us know when you would like the tour and for how many people.
