Spring 2024 in Agassiz, near the scenic Harrison Hot Springs, will mark the debut of the Harrison Tulip Festival, a vibrant successor to the beloved Chilliwack Tulip Festival.

Harrison Tulip Festival
Originating from the Tulips of the Valley, which began in 2006 on Seabird Island, the festival moved to Chilliwack for a decade before finally settling on the Onos family’s Agassiz farmland in the Harrison River Valley. This marks the 18th year of the family-organized tulip festival and symbolizes a return to the event’s beginnings.
The festival is expected to launch in April, depending on the tulips’ bloom cycle, offering a four-week spectacle of colour and charm.
The festival grounds will cover 35 acres and feature a diverse range of bulbs, including over 50 tulip varieties, 15 types of double daffodils, and various hyacinths. Boasting over 50 tulip varieties in over 10 million tulip bulbs, alongside 15 types of double daffodils and a selection of hyacinths, the festival also introduces fritillaria to its floral array.

A two-acre show garden will be embellished with mature trees, flowering shrubs, and a myriad of bulbous flowers, with Mount Cheam providing a scenic backdrop.
According the Onos family, festival’s location, enriched with the natural beauty of Mount Cheam, offers a picturesque setting for springtime memories.
The festival promises an opportunity to step into a world reminiscent of simpler times, with photo spots featuring swing sets, antique tractors, horse carts, vintage bicycles, a 1950s convertible, and a 1965 Airstream trailer, along with raised platforms perfect for capturing the moment.
For those craving treats, two food trucks will be onsite serving daily, serving various foods including authentic Dutch stroopwafels. The on-site farm store will provide a range of souvenirs, fresh-cut and potted flowers, and other refreshments for purchase, completing the festival’s multisensory experience.
