IKEA Canada is set to unveil its new store at Scarborough Town Centre this month.

The store will open on August 23rd, with grand opening festivities commencing at 8:30 am. This follows the company’s aim to provide an omnichannel, seamless shopping experience.
Occupying 7,489 square metres, the store is geared to offer a myriad of home solutions catering to small spaces, sustainability, and affordability, tailored to resonate with the local Scarborough populace and beyond.
Customers can anticipate a traditional one-way flow layout familiar in larger IKEA outlets, complemented by dual entry/exit points and check-out lanes for efficient shopping. In addition, the store will integrate digital tools and offer a spectrum of services like assembly, returns, and home delivery, alongside a dedicated Planning Hub. Major furniture pieces will be exhibited for viewing, with options for home delivery or pick-up from various city locations or the in-store IKEA Pick up Point.
This is IKEA Canada’s sophomore effort in launching a compact store format, succeeding the previously inaugurated IKEA Toronto Downtown – Aura. The new Scarborough outlet will mirror numerous features seen in Toronto, most notably the Swedish Deli, where patrons can relish iconic Swedish fare.
“We are excited to welcome the community of Scarborough to our new store. Every detail was created with the unique needs of Scarborough residents in mind, from the proximity to public transportation and delivery and assembly options, to the wide product range curated specifically to help them with solutions to live a better everyday life at home,” said Odette Walker, Market Manager at IKEA Scarborough Town Centre in a news release.
As an inaugural offer, IKEA Scarborough Town Centre is hosting the ‘Scarborough Link Up’, where early bird customers can win gift cards by enrolling in the IKEA Family loyalty scheme.

What: The 7,489 square metre store promises endless inspiration and a seamless shopping experience. The much-loved showrooms will spotlight affordable, sustainable, and small space living solutions which meet the everyday needs and dreams of the Scarborough community and beyond. The store will feature the traditional one-way flow layout renowned at larger format IKEA locations, with two entrances/exits and check-out lanes at each for a smooth shopping experience. The store will also have digital tools throughout, and a complete range of convenient services including assembly, returns, home delivery and a dedicated Planning Hub. Larger furniture items will be on display, and available to view and order for home delivery or pick up at convenient pick-up locations across the city or the IKEA Pick up Point in the store.

The grand opening celebrations at the store will begin 8:30 am at the store’s entrance within the shopping centre and the first customers will be welcomed through the doors at 9:00 am
