Parks Canada to Close All Visitor Services in National Parks

imagePrime Minister Trudeau announced that Parks Canada will be closing visitor services across all Parks Canada managed sites.

Trudeau said that Parks Canada will be shutting down anything “with a door”.

Parks Canada operates 48 national parks and 970 national historic sites including non-operating sites. Parks Canada close services effective Thursday, March 19, 12:00 a.m.

Ontario and Alberta also have closed all visitor services in their respective parks with events and site bookings cancelled.

 

Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Canada will be closing its borders to all those who are not citizens or permanent residents of Canada. U.S. Citizens are exempt from this restriction at this time. To help Canadians get home, the Government of Canada is creating a special financial assistance program, the COVID-19 Emergency Loan Program for Canadians Abroad.
