Update: Coronavirus: Ontario Parks Closes All Provincial Parks
Ontario Government has announced that in response to Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health’s recommendation regarding public gatherings, Ontario Parks has cancelled all planned events until further notice.
All public Ontario Parks buildings, such as visitor centres, will also be closed until further notice.
Outdoor recreational opportunities including camping and day-use will still be available at operating parks. That means you can enjoy all outdoor activities like hiking and sightseeing. Washrooms will be open.
Ontario Parks will also enhance the cleaning of public areas that remain open, including washrooms.
According to the release, a full refund, without any penalty, will be provided to those who wish to cancel their current reservations for arrivals up to April 30, 2020.
For more information on reservation cancellations or changes where available, you should contact the Ontario Parks Reservations. Call Centre at 1-888-668-7275 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Do not cancel or change reservations online if you want to receive a penalty-free refund.
This decision will be reassessed on April 1, 2020, and April 15, 2020.
