Porch View Dances

Join us for our 12th Annual Porch View Dances (PVD), as we celebrate the stories of our local neighbourhood by taking dance out of the theatre and into our daily lives. Founded by Karen Kaeja, PVD is a one-of-a-kind community dance event that brings together creators and everyday folk from around Tkaronto, some of whom have never danced before, to create unique performances in Seaton Village, Toronto.

We’re delighted to announce the addition of Co-Curator and Artistic Producer Sofi Gudiño and Co-Curator Sid Ryan Eilers to the PVD team this year. They are joining us as part of a special initiative aimed at expanding our PVD communities, perspectives, and artistic repertoire. Sid and Sofi have dedicated their efforts to selecting works that foster connection and significance, with a deliberate focus on amplifying underrepresented voices in dance and voices from past Porch View Dances.

Returning in-person, the tour will conclude with a Flock Landing, a participatory, site-specific activation which invites people of all ages and mobility levels to join a collective movement ensemble. Led by professional dancers, it embraces simple easy to follow moving gestures that welcome you to become part of the finale experience. We encourage you to come dance with us every show in the Flock Landing at Vermont Square Park!

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour start time on the day of the event and bring a fully charged mobile device with you so you can access the QR codes and augmented reality experiences; late arrivals may miss some of the Discovery Walk experience.

There will be a Flock Landing in Vermont Square Park.
