Take Canada’s popular haunted ride through a southwestern Ontario forest this Halloween.
The Reaper’s Realm in Lambton County will take you on a terrifying bus ride this Halloween.
Reapers Realm Haunted Ride
Most haunted attractions ask you to walk into the darkness. At Reaper’s Realm, part of the experience involves getting on a bus and heading into a forest after nightfall.
The Courtright Halloween attraction marks 25 years in 2026. Its signature Haunted Forest Ride is joined by two walk-through haunted houses, Bickford Oaks Mega Haunted House and The Harris House of Terrors, plus a short Coffin Ride experience.
For visitors weighing a drive to Lambton County, the forest setting and combination of several attractions are the main reasons to consider Reaper’s Realm over a conventional haunted house.
The Legend
Reaper’s Realm sets the stage for the Haunted ride with a ‘legend‘ about something sinister that awaits your arrival in the heart of the forest at Reaper’s Realm.
The legend goes like this: in the early 1800s, settlers of St. Clair Township tried to cut down the forest for farmland, but when they reached closer to the realm, strange occurrences began to take place. Many settlers started to disappear, and many strange accidents happened. Realizing this was a cursed place, these settlers marked all the trees around the realm with an “R.” It is said that close to Halloween, the leader of the lost souls returns, and so do the souls he claimed to protect the realm.
Now that you know the forest’s chilling history, are you brave enough to enter the realm?
What will you actually experience?
The Haunted Forest Ride is the distinguishing attraction. Rather than moving through constructed rooms on foot, visitors board a bus for a nighttime trip through the property’s wooded setting.
There are two walk-through haunts as well. Bickford Oaks Mega Haunted House is Reaper’s Realm’s larger haunted-house attraction, while The Harris House of Terrors provides a second haunted walkthrough. Visitors can buy either separately or get both along with the Haunted Forest Ride through the combo ticket.
For something considerably shorter, there is also the Coffin Ride, which Reaper’s Realm describes as simulating being buried alive. Tickets for that experience are limited.
Visitors planning to do everything should allow a couple of hours. Reaper’s Realm says individual attractions generally take 10 to 15 minutes, but waits increase as Halloween approaches. Earlier in the season, the entire visit can take closer to an hour.
What else happens between the scares?
Reaper’s Realm has more going on than the three main haunted attractions, particularly if you arrive on a night with live entertainment.
The 2026 entertainment schedule includes DJ Lumina, The Feelers Band, Totally Acoustic, Neon Ignition, That Rock Show, Boneyard and Red Sky Cartel on different nights during the season. Fenyx Fyre is also scheduled to perform on October 30.
There are food vendors and a gift shop on site, giving visitors something to do between attractions or while spending a longer evening at the property. Outside food and beverages are not permitted.
The entertainment is particularly useful given how busy the attraction can become later in October. Reaper’s Realm recommends arriving when the ticket booth opens at 7 p.m., and says lines become longer as Halloween approaches.
What should you know before making the drive?
This is an outdoor, weather-dependent Halloween outing, so dress for a late September or October night rather than treating it like an indoor haunted house. Light rain generally does not stop operations, but heavy rain or severe weather can result in closure.
It is also aimed at visitors who genuinely want to be scared rather than families looking for a gentle Halloween attraction. Reaper’s Realm says all of its attractions are designed to be frightening. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult, while children five and younger receive free admission with an adult.
One accessibility limitation is important to know before travelling: the haunted houses are not wheelchair accessible because they contain tight walkways and stairs.
For visitors coming from farther away, the strongest reason to make the trip is the Haunted Forest Ride. The combination of a nighttime bus ride through the forest, two separate haunted houses, the Coffin Ride and nightly entertainment makes this more of a Halloween destination than a single haunted-house walkthrough.
