The four-day music festival, running from June 12 to 15, features an extensive lineup of Canadian artists across three main stages: the TD Main Stage, Access Storage West Stage, and the Plaza Stage at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre (BPAC).
On Thursday, June 12, acts like Charissa, The Kings, Chalk Circle, and Junkhouse will kick off the festival on the TD Main Stage, while Basement Revolver and Classic Albums Live perform at the West Stage.
Friday, June 13, brings a mix of rock and indie performances, including Julian Taylor, Limblifter, and David Wilcox on the TD Main Stage. Over at the West Stage, highlights include Born Ruffians and Steven Page.
Saturday, June 14, offers full-day programming. Big Wreck, Royal Tusk, and Harm & Ease lead the evening at the TD Main Stage, with Tebey and The Redhill Valleys on the West Stage. BPAC features intimate performances from Samantha Ava, Kylie Fox, and Lori Yates.
The festival concludes on Sunday, June 15, with Tim Baker, Georgia Harmer, and Cuff the Duke on the TD Main Stage. Joel Plaskett Emergency headlines the West Stage, while Mary Simon and Lindy Vopnfjord close out the Plaza Stage.
It’s not just concerts at the festival; for families, there will be a grand fair featuring street vendors, great food, children’s activities, a midway with carnival rides, live performers, and various music acts.
This year, the Sound of Music Festival is partnering with the Art Gallery of Burlington on June 14–15 for a weekend of art, music, and family-friendly activities. Highlights include hands-on weaving, open studio artmaking, community events like Use Your Words, and exhibitions such as A Curve, Not A Line and A Vessel to Bend Water.
The Midway, provided by Robertson Amusements, is returning to the Festival as one of the most popular attractions. The Midway will be open at different hours throughout the weekend: Thursday (5-11pm), Friday (4-11pm), Saturday (12-11pm), and Sunday (12:00-5pm).
A Grande Festival Parade will take over Burlington streets on June 14th with marching bands from across North America, along with whimsical floats and performers. The parade begins at 11 a.m., from Brant Street at Grahams Lane/Prospect Street, and travels South on Brant Street ending at the corner of Brant Street & Elgin Street The parade route will be closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Downtown is going to be packed with people. To avoid the hassle of finding a parking spot in the densely packed Downtown core, free SOM shuttles will be available to Spencer Smith Park.
Although the shuttle service is free, passengers are encouraged to make donations onboard to support the festival and keep the service free. The shuttle stops are located at Hudson’s Bay in Burlington Centre (777 Guelph Ln.) and Downtown Burlington (Lakeshore Rd. & Elizabeth St.).
Don’t miss all the fun, music & food. Are you excited?
