Easter at the Cannery
This annual fun-filled family friendly weekend features crafts, story time, games, and of course, the Easter Salmon Scavenger Hunt, all inside the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site. The main event is the Easter egg hunt – each kid will get a token . we hide beans and the kids can run around and find them , once done having fun finding the beans they take their token to exchange for a bag of chocolate eggs and return! Visitors can also enjoy music by Celtic singer Nigel Tucker and magic shows by magician Chris Yuill. There will be a dancing dog show done by Joyce Johnstone and her talented Border Collies, Skye and Twinkle Toes . Easter basket making, bunny ear making activity, a duck chute and a fishing activity. For the “hoppiest” little bunnies, join an egg scramble (pictured above) at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Children ages 5 and younger try to pick up as many foil eggs as they can before they’re gone.
