Last month, the Alberta government declared September 1st as Alberta Day – a day to commemorate Alberta’s entry to the Confederation on Sept. 1, 1905 and to celebrate the “province’s unique spirit, culture and heritage“.
Alberta is hosting festivities in Calgary and Edmonton which include fireworks and a free concert by Brett Kissel in both cities.
Alberta Day festivities begin on September 1st in Edmonton.
The opening ceremony will be held on the grounds of the Alberta Legislature Building, and fun will continue throughout the Labour day weekend until fireworks and a live concert by Brett Kissel will take place on the evening of the 3rd of September.
