Alberta Vaccine Passport with QR Code Required From November 15th For Accessing Restrictions Exemption Program Venues

Alberta has announced paper records without a QR code can not be used to access venues that have implemented Restrictions Exemption Program starting November 15th.

The province says starting November 15th, those entering businesses and venues taking part in the REP will be required to show one of the following:

  • Alberta vaccine record with a QR code
  • Canadian Armed Forces vaccine record
  • First Nations immunization record
  • Vaccine records issued by other provinces and territories
  • ArriveCan app for international travellers and valid international travel identity document
  • Negative privately paid COVID-19 test from within the previous 72 hours
  • Valid proof of medical exemption

The enhanced Alberta vaccine record is available through alberta.ca/CovidRecords.

Albertans can also get a printed vaccine record with QR code at no cost by visiting a registry agent office or by calling 811.

The record can be printed, saved by taking a screenshot or downloaded on a phone. It can also be added to the Apple Wallet and the QR code can be added as a loyalty card on Google Pay.

Creating or using a false vaccination record is an offence in Alberta and is subject to prosecution and/or fines of up to $100,000 for a first-time offence.
