Taking goat yoga to the next level, Beach Goats has become an iconic activity on Prince Edward Island’s south shore.
While most goats hate the water, these goats love the water, the beach, and dressing up. Along with the adorable stars of the show, Nigerian Dwarf Goats and Alpine Goats, you can cuddle chickens and bunnies when you visit the farm.
Beach Goats is open year-round for a goat-load of farm fun, which will keep you coming back for more sweet goat love. Of course, the goats will be dressed for the season, no matter what time of year you decide to visit them.
Summer is the best time to visit the goats since you can spend time with them on the beach and in the water. During July and August, the Beach Goat Sampler Drop-In takes place twice a week. Grab a yoga mat and head to the beach for the weekly Beach Goats Yoga Sessions. Go paddling with a goat on the Seas the Day package or make an iconic red dirt shirt with the adorable baby goats with the Dirty Feet Shirt experience.
The fun moves from the beach to the farm in the Fall. The Sampler is just on Sundays on the farm. Play with the goats, cuddle chickens, pet some rabbits and do a craft. See the fall colours with 3 to 5 goats with the Autumn Walk experiences. Depending on the day, the goats may be dressed up in Halloween costumes. The goats also love snacking on pumpkins.
Cozy up by the campfire and get some goat hugs during the winter. The availability of experiences is based on the weather. Even though it is cold and snowy, the goats still love heading to the beach in the winter. They love searching out their favourite bits of seaweed and sliding on the ice flows. You can even take Christmas photos with the goats dressed in their adorable Christmas outfits, either at the farm or at your home, or at a specific photo location.
Spring means that it is baby time on the farm. The weekly sampler returns during the spring and you can meet the baby goats and their moms.
Keep the farm fun going by staying at the farm. There are two rooms available to stay in at the 100-year-old farmhouse. The rooms have absolutely breathtaking views of the Northumberland Strait, which is right across the road from the farm.
When you visit the farm, you really should keep an eye on your food since the goats are known to take bites out of anything that looks yummy. Some goats have even nibbled on the colourfully painted finger and toe nails because they looked like M&M’s!
