Hamilton Originals: The Songs of Bonnie Raitt and Norah Jones

Jacob Moon, Melissa Marchese and Melissa Dutch perform the music of two iconic female vocalists, blending the best of their Rock, Blues, and Jazz influences. The band will feature the talented Alex Whorms, Mark Mcintyre, Sean O’Grady and Mike Branton!

Bonnie Raitt is a highly acclaimed singer, guitarist, and songwriter. She made her debut in 1971 with her self-titled album, which marked the beginning of a distinguished career. She went on to release a series of critically praised albums that blended roots music with influences from blues, rock, folk, and country. Norah Jones is a renowned singer-songwriter and musician, celebrated for her exceptional musical talent. With over 53 million records sold worldwide as of 2023, she was also named Billboard’s top jazz artist of the 2000s.

Jacob Moon
The only artist in Canada who was asked by RUSH on multiple occasions to perform for the band, which he did in 2010 and 2016, later contributing a song to the official 2112 40th anniversary compilation, alongside fellow luminaries like Foo Fighters and Alice in Chains. Moon has made a career out of not only creating 12 albums of original material, but also interpreting some of our most treasured classics.

With her debut album Mad Love out in the world, she’s right where she belongs—on stage, sharing the moment with the ones who make it all matter.

Melissa Dutch
A fresh artistic voice from Hamilton, Ontario, Melissa Dutch emerges onto the Canadian music scene in a wave of emotion, lyrical depth, and vocal power. Melissa’s skillful storytelling and soulful voice have been compared to artists such as Sarah McLachlan, Adele, Alanis Morisette, and Florence Welch. Melissa is an active and powerful artist from sound to sight to sentiment, having written and performed her original music for Under the Blue Moon at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, headlined for Take Back the Night at Hamilton City Hall with SACHA, and performed at Hamilton Fashion Week in 2024. Melissa is curating a series of workshops and showcases at Mills Hardware called Femme Rising, facilitating community, professional development, and a platform for Femme artists during the summer of 2025. Her original work is an observation and an anthem for the outcast, and a beacon for the weird and wonderful and she is working on several original recording projects set for release in 2026.
