Events Description
Learn about Victorian Christmas traditions on a guided tour of Ireland House Museum today.
Christmas Cards – The custom of sending Christmas cards began in 1843, and has stayed a popular part of many families’ traditions to this day. Create your own Christmas card to send to a loved one this season!
Christmas Cookies – There’s nothing like the smell of freshly baked Christmas cookies to get you in the spirit! Join us for a Victorian Christmas tour at Ireland House Museum, and see the historic hearth at work, baking sugar cookies for you to sample!
Christmas Thaumatropes – Experience the magic of the Christmas season with a Victorian Christmas tour at Ireland House Museum, and create a magic illusion toy, the thaumatrope, to take-home and enjoy!
Christmas Toys and Games – Just like we do today, the Ireland children would have been excited to wake up Christmas morning to find presents under the tree – but their toys looked a lot different! Join us on a Victorian Christmas tour at Ireland House Museum, and try out some old-fashioned toys and games.
