The day starts with a pancake breakfast in Simcoe Park, prepared and served by the Rotary Club of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Once breakfast is over, the Rotary Club will set up for their annual Canada Day barbecue, serving up burgers and dogs to help support July 1st activities.
Be sure to catch the “cakewalk” parade down Queen Street, starting at 3:00 pm from the corner of Simcoe and Queen, escorted by the Fort George Fife & Drum Corps and our local dignitaries.
Throughout the day, visitors to Fort George can tour the buildings, visit with costumed interpreters, try some period treats prepared in the Officers’ Kitchen, enjoy a musket demonstration, and more!
An evening barbecue will be available at Fort George, prepared and served by the hardworking Friends of Fort George volunteers.
A spectacular fireworks display will once again close the evening!
