Events Description
Piano? Fortepiano? What is the difference? Well, come and hear for yourself!
Immerse yourself into an 18th-century candlelit salon, where Beethoven’s piano works would have been performed for nobility. Learn about Beethoven’s rivals and contemporaries and find out how they influenced the development of the modern day piano. Experience first hand what kind of instrument Beethoven would have at his disposal when writing his masterpieces.
Ilya Poletaev, together with Ruxandra Oancea, will perform on both the fortepiano and the modern piano, guiding you through the differences between the two. Sort of like test driving a Model T Ford and a Porsche!
Come listen to Beethoven’s masterpieces on a historical instrument in a candlelit setting.
