The Philharmonisches Streichquartett Berlin carries the musical lineage of one of the great orchestras: distinguished, refined, and deeply committed to the highest standards of ensemble playing. They arrive in Canada for the very first time to perform three of the most beloved works in the string quartet repertoire. Barber’s achingly beautiful Adagio, Dvořák’s joyful and melodically irresistible American Quartet, and Schubert’s haunting and magnificent Death and the Maiden – one of the greatest works written for string quartet.
