Events Description
Bring the whole family to Forkin’ Around in Riversdale, a free, family-friendly food and beverage based event, presented by the Riversdale Business Improvement District. On Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., 20th Street between Ave B and Ave D will come alive with local flavours, live entertainment, and a healthy dose of friendly competition.
Graze your way through a lineup of local restaurants and food trucks, food and beverage vendors, catch music by a DJ rolling down the block throughout the day, and enjoy a 1 hour long show by Shayne Lazarowich at noon presented by the CCMA’s. There’s a dedicated kids’ zone with FREE face painting by Beauty by Bekka, FREE balloon twisting by Balloon Funn, yard games, a tomato-forward Riversdale restaurant cook-off judged by event sponsors, and the month-long Passport Program that rewards shoppers who collect stamps across participating businesses in the district for the month August.
The day’s headline spectacle is a head-to-head figure-eight bathtub race for charity— teams of four battling through heats to a championship final, with prizes for the fastest tub, the slowest tub, and best costume.
It’s a celebration that gives back: 50% of the bath tub race fee goes to support the Crocus Co-operative, and an on-site Fill the Tub food drive is taking non perishable donations for the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre.
