Events Description
Accompanied by four guitarists, Carminho will present her magnificent self-produced sixth opus, Portuguesa, released in March of this year. The album incorporates all that Carminho has learned from her roots since childhood, respecting words and traditional language, while bringing a fresh and contemporary view of the world that inspires her.
Fado, the soul of Portugal, is her life. Carminho demonstrates this connection with a powerful, deep, and passionate vocal performance. Daughter of fadista Teresa Siquieira, Carminho blends authentic fado, the sound she was brought up on, with influences from Portuguese and Brazilian popular music and jazz. Admired by fans at home and abroad, the 38-year-old diva is a Portuguese icon of international renown and one of the purest and most passionate voices in the fervent and melancholy genre that is fado.
