Events Description
Multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer Elijah Fox brings a richly textured sound that drifts between jazz, impressionism, and psychedelic soul. His 2023 impressionistic piano album Wyoming put him on the map with title track “Wyoming” becoming a viral sensation, amassing over 40 million streams and counting.
Trained at Oberlin Conservatory, Fox draws on a wide constellation of influences—from Art Tatum and Miles Davis to Joni Mitchell and Radiohead—crafting music that feels both deeply rooted and strikingly contemporary.
A sought-after collaborator, Fox has worked with some of today’s biggest artists including SZA, Masego, Tom Misch, Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis, and J. Cole, and tours internationally as keyboardist with Yussef Dayes, moving fluidly between R&B, hip hop, and experimental soul. His work has also been heard millions of times as a sample on Drake and 21 Savage’s “Major Distribution,” as well as on Álvaro Díaz and Quevedo’s “Quizás Sí, Quizás No.”
Named one of the highlights of last year’s Montreal Jazz Festival, Fox’s extensive experience as a collaborator has laid the foundation for his burgeoning solo career. At the Chan Centre, Fox makes his Vancouver debut performing solo piano works offering a listening experience that is deeply immersive, contemplative, and poetic.
