Events Description
Join in the fun as CUPE 23 – Burnaby Civic Employees Union sponsors Labour Day at the Burnaby Village Museum. Celebrate the last day of the summer season with a fun filled day of free carousel rides and learning about labour history. Uncover fascinating stories behind the labour movement in British Columbia and the 100+ years of CUPE at the City of Burnaby.
Take part in a special themed scavenger hunt, demonstrations, live music, special displays and hands on activities. Special performance of Japanese and Canadian folk songs and stories by Kevin Takahide Lee. Don’t forget to join the roving troupe The Can-Do’s! They hand out chopsticks and invite you to cacophonously clang away on their tin-can skirts! People of all ages delightfully jam along while the sisters sing and you ting and tang.
