Events Description
One of BC’s largest music presenters, Coastal Jazz and Blues Society, is proud to present its annual Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
Over the decades, Vancouver has gained an international reputation as a meeting place for creative musicians. Continuing that tradition, this year’s program will include an intriguing and extensive roster of local and international musicians.
The 2026 Vancouver International Jazz Festival will feature a mix of free and ticketed performances, including the return of Downtown Jazz—a free concert series taking place outside the Vancouver Art Gallery at šxʷƛ ̓ ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square on June 27 and 28. Granville Island will serve as the hub for festival activities, hosting both free and ticketed shows at Ocean Artworks throughout the festival, as well as at Performance Works and the Revue Stage from July 1 to 5. Additionally, downtown theatres, clubs, and North Shore venues will showcase a variety of live jazz performances throughout the 16-day festival. New festival locations, such as The Hollywood Theatre and The Birdhouse, have also been added to the schedule.
The Performance Works Series, running July 1 to 5, features five nights of adventurous programming highlighting local luminaries of the scene. The Performance Works series opens on Wednesday, July 1, with Voodoo: The Music of D’Angelo, followed by MA: Q and the Sharon Minemoto Quartet on Thursday, July 2. The Cellar Live 25th Anniversary celebration with Cory Weeds’ Little Big Band featuring Jerry Weldon and the Noah Franche-Nolan Trio takes the stage on Friday, July 3. On Saturday, July 4, Haleluya Hailu plays Ethiopia, directed by Feven Kidane, and the Performance Works Series closes on Sunday, July 5, with the Stranger Friends Orchestra featuring Fredrik Ljungkvist.
