Camping season will be here soon. This year, visitors to Buffalo Pound Provincial Park can experience camping in hammocks!
Sask Parks is offering hammock camping exclusively for this season at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park. The Park, located only twenty minutes northeast of Moose Jaw and about an hour from Regina, is a perfect summer getaway. The park offers a number of activities for a multi-day adventure including wildlife viewing, hiking, fishing, canoeing as well as mountain biking.
Of course, you can bring your own hammock (with a supporting stand for places that do not allow them or have no trees in perfect alignment for setup) to your campsites across Sask Parks. The difference here is that for the hammock camping offered at Elmview Campground — in site E36 for a fee of $50 per night — hammocks are placed on special structures called Weaver structures and each such structure can accommodate up to six hammocks.
Worried about mosquito bites? Opt for a zip-in hammock!
Campers can bring their own hammocks or rent one for $10 each.
Reservations for hammock camping open on April 25th. Book yours before they sell out!
