Markham Closes All Libraries, and Recreation Centres Due to Coronavirus Concerns

Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Members of Council and the City’s COVID-19 Coordination Team have decided to close City facilities until April 5, 2020 with the exception of Markham Civic Centre in an effort to curtail the spread of COVID-19 across Canada.

CITY OF MARKHAM FACILITIES CLOSED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS CONCERNS

• All community centres
• Markham Libraries
• Varley Art Gallery of Markham
• Flato Markham Theatre
• Markham Museum
• All programs and drop-ins – including March Break camps – will be suspended until April 5, 2020 and refunds will be issued.
• City-produced events have been cancelled for March and will be rescheduled, as appropriate.

Markham Civic Centre will remain open to the public during regular operating hours, however, residents are encouraged to access the City’s services online at markham.ca/OnlineServices or contact the Contact Centre at 905-477-5530 or customerservice@markham.ca.
