City of Pickering is closing all City facilities with the exception of Pickering City Hall in an effort to curtail the spread of coronavirus across Canada.
All public City facilities, with the exception of Pickering City Hall, will be closed as of 4:30 pm on March 13, 2020 until April 5, 2020. Permits for private events at City facilities will be cancelled until April 5, 2020 and the City will issue full refunds will be issued for any paid City programs, events, and permits.

- City public events and programs will be suspended as of 4:30 pm March 13, 2020 until April 5, 2020 (inclusive). This includes:Sparky’s Fire Station Birthday Party at Fire Station 5 (March 20)
- Adult 55+ event – Sunday Afternoon Big Band (March 15)
- Pre-teen dance (March 27)
