Swift Current will be hosting two festivals over Father’s day weekend – the SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival and the Long Day’s Night Music Festival.

Windscape is a free family festival that offers a unique and exciting weekend of entertainment from June 18th to June 19th (10 AM – 5 PM on both days). The festival draws hundreds of visitors and celebrity kite flyers every year. So expect to see the sky alive with the colourful soaring kites – from stunt kites to giant creature kites to artistic masterpieces.

There are many activities for children and families to do at the festival. Face-painting, bubble blowing, a straw bale maze, splatter wall, balloon sculpting are a few among them. Want to fly a kite or make one of your own? At the festival’s Kite Building Workshops, volunteers will help you make one. Kites ranging from $10 to $90 are also available for purchase at the Kite Store. With lessons from kite instructors, you will soon be an expert in kitting.
