Events Description

Saskatchewan Highland Gathering & Celtic Festival is Saskatchewan’s Premier Scottish attraction hosted yearly in Regina on May Long weekend. Celebrate Scottish culture with music, competitions, entertainment, vendors.

In true Scottish hospitality, the Saskatchewan Highland Gathering & Celtic Festival provides a friendly and relaxed environment for members of the public to come and watch various competitions in piping and drumming, highland dancing, and Scottish heavy athletics. In addition to having a front row seat to the above mentioned Celtic disciplines, the festival portion of the event offers a beer garden, bouncy castles for the kids and other pre-arranged activities. The fun doesn’t stop there, attendees are encouraged to take a stroll through our vendors market and pick-up something uniquely Scottish like a clan badge, sporran, sgian dubh (skeen doo – black dagger) or even a kilt! This is the only event of its kind in the province of Saskatchewan. It is not to be missed!

This year we are proud to host a Ceilidh at The Exchange (2431 8th Ave, Regina) on Saturday evening featuring renowned piper Fred Morrison! Tickets for the Ceilidh are separate from the festival tickets, but can be purchased alongside your festival tickets for a one-stop shopping experience.

  1. NOFREESHOWS

This BAGPIPE based event would be alright for an hour. As it runs for 2 days straight, it is an obnoxious disturbance to the downtown residential core. BAGPIPES are an aggressive military tactic and you feel that you want to share this with people everywhere in ear shot just for fun? Stop being so arrogant and if you must play these contraptions, do so in your own yard or out in the country. And, attention new residents; don’t bother moving into the downtown of Regina area because City Hall always books these loud and obnoxious events for our entertainment. A complete waste of tax dollars.
