Events Description

On Saturday, May 16th in Regina, we’re promoting all things Scottish and Celtic and providing an opportunity for local and neighboring community members to get involved, showcasing their talents, and promoting their wares.
Pipers, drummers, dancers, heavy event athletes, and enthusiasts from Western Canada come out to participate in our exciting line-up of events.
In true Scottish hospitality, the Gathering provides a friendly environment for members of the public to come and watch the various events taking place including the piping and drumming, highland dancing, heavy events, and the very popular festival tent.
After watching your favourite event, take a stroll through our Celtic market and pick up something uniquely Scottish like a clan badge, sporran, sgian dubh (skeen doo – black dagger) or even a kilt! Food and refreshments are available all weekend and you’re sure to have a fabulous day at the Games!
Bring the whole family! On a sunny day, nothing beats relaxing in a lawn chair or lying on a blanket, listening to the sounds of Scotland!

  1. NOFREESHOWS

This BAGPIPE based event would be alright for an hour. As it runs for 2 days straight, it is an obnoxious disturbance to the downtown residential core. BAGPIPES are an aggressive military tactic and you feel that you want to share this with people everywhere in ear shot just for fun? Stop being so arrogant and if you must play these contraptions, do so in your own yard or out in the country. And, attention new residents; don’t bother moving into the downtown of Regina area because City Hall always books these loud and obnoxious events for our entertainment. A complete waste of tax dollars.
